On January 15th at approximately 1000pm a vehicle travelling east on Mapleview Drive lost control and ended up in the ditch. The driver was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to Barrie Police Headquarters where he refused to provide breath samples. Officers attempted to take the male to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre so that blood samples could be taken, but again the male refused.
A 28 year old Barrie male was charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving, refusing to provide breath samples, and refusing to accompany for the purpose of obtaining blood samples. He faces a future court date. His licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was seized for 7 days. Further investigation revealed that there was no insurance on the vehicle and that the plates were not authorized for the vehicle .
