Barrie Police were called to the off ramp of HWY 400 and Essa Rd for an accident involving a red vehicle with a female driver who fled the scene.
As Police were dispatched to this accident, a second call came in for a red vehicle with a female driver involved in an accident at Dunlop St and Maple Ave and was again trying to leave the scene.
The vehicle had also struck a gas meter attached to a building.
Police were able to stop the car and investigate the driver, who was found to be in an intoxicated condition.
She was arrested for impaired driving and transported to the Barrie Police Service where she provided breath samples that were over three (3) times the legal limit of 80mgs/100ml.
A 45 Barrie female was found to be on outstanding charges for Impaired driving and was held for a bail hearing.
Meanwhile Barrie Fire attended the second (downtown) accident scene to assist with damaged vehicles and gas meter damage.
Barrie Fire detected the odour of natural gas and called out a HAZMAT team and Enbridge Gas to repair damage to the gas meter. The damage was repaired without incident.
There were no injuries to any involved parties.
