(Ottawa) — The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse (SACA) Section has charged a Montreal man following an investigation into several allegations of sexual assault.
In April, May and June 2015, Ottawa Police received a report of a male who was approaching teenaged females in his vehicle and asking for directions. The accused would encourage victims to stand at the driver’s side of the vehicle within arm’s length. He would then touch them inappropriately.
Robert YANCOVITCH, 29 years old, of Montreal is charged with two counts of Sexual Assault. He is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
Similar incidents are being investigated in other jurisdictions, including Montreal and Longueuil. Further charges may be laid.
SACA investigators are concerned that there could be other victims.
