(MUNICIPALITY OF NORTH PERTH, ON) On Friday February 17, 2012 Perth County OPP officers in Listowel had parked their cruiser on the west side of Wallace Ave North south of Inkerman St. The officers were investigating a collision in the area. A male person entered the driver’s seat of a Hyundai Santa Fe which was parked directly in front of the police cruiser. The driver reversed the Santa Fe into the front of the cruiser and sped off. The Santa Fe was followed and was eventually pulled over on Livingstone Ave South.
The male driver was arrested for failing to remain at the scene and was administered a roadside breath test which he failed. He also failed two subsequent Intoxylizer breath tests at the North Perth OPP detachment in Listowel.
As a result Ian Love (40) of the Municipality of North Perth has been charged with “operation of a motor vehicle with over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100 ml of bloodâ€Â, and with “fail to remainâ€Â. He is scheduled to appear in Listowel Court on March 21, 2012 to answer to these charges. He was issued a 90 day driver’s licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
