Hwy 86 Collision Update – 86 Year Old Succumbs To Injuries

On December 20, 2016 at 12:10 p.m., Waterloo Regional Police responded to a collision on Highway 86, between Lavery Road and Side Road 19. A westbound 2013 Volkswagen PTE, driven by a 23-year-old Richmond Hill man, collided with a 1996 Oldsmobile SUL, which was driven by an 86-year-old Wellesley Township man. The 86-year-old man was transported to a local hospital and then air lifted to an out of town trauma center where he succumbed to his injuries on December 22, 2016. The two male occupants of the second vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to call police at 519-650-8500 ext. 8857.

The two male occupants of the second vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries and released. Highway 86 will remain closed for several hours while officers investigate.
