(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – As a result of this collision power was disconnected to 500 area homes by Hydro One. Four heavy tows were utilized to remove the empty transport from the scene. Power was restored at around 8:30 pm the same date (November 21, 2016) and the highway was reopened. No charges were laid against the driver as a result of this collision.

HIGHWAY 23 CLOSED DUE TO COLLISION
(MUNCIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) – Members of the Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and local fire services are at the scene of a single motor vehicle collision on Hwy 23 between Line 12 and Line 16 (South of Russeldale).
A tractor trailer has left the roadway, jackknifed and struck a hydro pole. Hydro wires are down and the truck is partially blocking Highway 23. The driver did not sustain injuries however the highway is expected to remain closed for an undetermined period of time.
Hydro One crews are currently enroute to the scene to deal with downed power lines.
Motorists are urged to find alternate routes around the collision location. Barricades have been placed on Hwy 23 at Line 10 (south of the collision scene) and at Line 16 (north of the collision scene).
