Hurricane Sandy – Damage Update in Guelph

During the past 12 hours, the Guelph Police Service has responded to the following calls for service that was a result of damage caused by Hurricane Sandy.

• At 7:53 p.m., a downed tree struck a hydro pole at the corner of Gordon Street South and Dean Avenue, Guelph. Guelph Hydro attended, and the Guelph Police stood by for
safety and traffic control.

• At 8:54 p.m., a downed tree struck a light standard at the corner of Woolwich Street North and Tiffany Street, Guelph. Guelph Hydro attended, and the Guelph Police stood
by for safety and traffic control.

• At 9:26 p.m., a downed tree struck two parked cars in a private drive on Normandy Street Guelph.

• At 9:30 p.m., a downed tree struck two houses on Lyon Avenue, Guelph and damaged the roofs.

The Guelph Police Service would like to thank the community for their respective efforts over the past 12 hours in efforts to make Guelph safer during the storm.
