(BLUEWATER, ON) – Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers and the Huron County OPP Crime unit are currently investigating a robbery that occurred this evening at the Zurich Variety & Bakery located at 57 Main Street. Officers responded to the variety store at approximately 8:00 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call for assistance.
Police have learned a lone male entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. The robber took an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the store in an unknown direction. No weapons were observed.
The area was searched by the OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and an OPP Canine unit; the suspect was not located.
The suspect is described as:
A Caucasian male, 5’ 10†to 6’ tall with a thin build
He was last seen wearing a blue spandex balaclava, a black hoody sweatshirt, and black jogging pants.
