(ST.MARYS, ON) On Friday June 04, 2010 shortly after 6 a.m. Perth County OPP officers were called to assist the St.Marys Fire Dept. to determine the cause of a small residential fire on Queen St. East.
The Fire Department had been called to a house fire at 895 Queen St. East just west of the Home Building Centre. The resident of the home was awakened by a noise on the front porch, the porch was checked and was found it to be on fire. The fire department extinguished the blaze keeping the damage to a minimum.
The exact cause of the fire is unknown but the Perth County OPP is requesting anyone who may have seen suspicious activity along Queen St. East in the early morning hours of Friday June 04 to call them at 1-888-310-1122 or to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
