HORSE AND BUGGY RUN OVER THEIR HANDLER

On December 8, 2012 at 1:50pm, a 62 year old male from Breslau was tending to his two horses that were attached to a closed in buggy in the parking lot of the Zehrs on Eramosa Road. The man was outside of the buggy when the horses became startled and ran southbound through the parking lot, dragging him on the asphalt. He eventually came free of the reigns and was run over by the out of control buggy. Both horses broke loose of the buggy and continued southbound on Stevenson Street North. Guelph Police and Guelph Wellington EMS attended and transported the man to Hospital with what appeared to be serious injuries. Both horses were located in the area of Palmer Street and Stevenson Street and returned to a safe location. The horses received minor injuries as a result of the incident.
