(COUNTY OF BRANT, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) County of Brant detachment is currently investigating an incident at a Papple Road, Cainsville, Ontario address.
On Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at approximately 2:57 p.m., police attended the address in order to check on the well-being of the occupant. Officers located an unresponsive male.
The coroner attended the scene and pronounced 69-year-old Robert WAITE of Brant County, Ontario deceased.
Detectives from the County of Brant OPP detachment, under the direction of Detective Inspector Brad NUNN, of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death.
A post-mortem examination was conducted on Friday, March 3, 2017 in Hamilton, Ontario. The result of the examination has caused investigators to classify this death investigation as a homicide.
