Homeowner Woken By Burglar

On Thursday, September 4, 2015, police responded to a break and enter just after 5:00 a.m., to a residence located on Bear Creek Drive, City of Barrie.

An unknown suspect entered the residence through a basement window, while the homeowner had been asleep. Once inside, the suspect quickly rummaged through drawers and cupboards and located a laptop, iPad Mini and a purse.

The homeowner was woken up by the noise and observed the suspect fleeing the residence through a bathroom window with the items, and immediately called 911.

Police would like to thank the suspect for leaving his/her Roots knapsack behind. The knapsack was seized for further examination.

Evidence collected at the scene has provided police with further information, which will lead to the identity of the suspect.
