Homeowner Chases Break and Enter Suspects

On October 6th, 2014 at 1:10 a.m. members of the Hanover Police Service responded to a break and enter into a residence in the 100 block of 11th Avenue in Hanover.

The homeowner interrupted the break-in and discovered that two suspects were going through vehicles in his attached garage. The homeowner chased the suspects on foot towards 2nd Street before losing sight of them.

The suspects are described as two white males in their 20’s wearing dark grey hoodies. The investigation revealed that this break-in is linked to other similar entries in the 200 block of 2nd Street and the 400 block of 1st Street South in Hanover. In those entries, suspect(s) entered the residences through unlocked doors into the attached garages and stole small quantities of money from the vehicles.

Hanover Police Service also received calls from residents who reported vehicles entered overnight in the same area of Hanover identified as the 100 and 300 block of 14th Avenue, 100 block of 13th Avenue, 200 block of 2nd Street and the 500 block of 8th Avenue. The investigation determined that the suspect(s) stole small amounts of change and an Apple IPOD from the unlocked vehicles. These break-ins to residences and thefts from vehicles occurred during the early morning hours of October 6th, 2014.

The Hanover Police Service is reminding residents to lock their houses and vehicles to prevent anyone from entering them and to call police immediately at 519-364-2411 (or 911 if an emergency) to report any suspicious activity in their neighbourhood.
