Home Invasion – Victim Struck With Oven Door

(South Huron, ON) On May 21, 2010 just before 7:00 pm, Huron OPP officers were called to a disturbance at a residence in Exeter. Upon arrival at the residence, police were advised that two males had kicked in the door to the residence and assaulted one of the occupants. One male used a weapon after he removed the oven door from the stove and struck the victim with it. The two males then fled the scene. One was located a short time later and was arrested. The second male is still outstanding. The people involved are known to each other and police believe this is an isolated incident that does not pose a risk to the general public.

As a result of the incident, a 26 year old Exeter male has been charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon and one count of Break and Enter. He is being held in custody pending a bail hearing. A second 21 year old Exeter male is still outstanding. Further information will be provided as it becomes available. LP10131142
