Home Invasion In Richmond Hill

Investigators with the York Regional Police Hold-Up Unit are seeking witnesses to assist with identifying suspects following a home invasion in Richmond Hill.

On Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at approximately 12 a.m., a 15-year-old victim was walking his neighbour’s dog while they were away. When he was returning to the residence with the dog, a male suspect came up behind him and forced him into the residence. Two to three additional suspects entered the home and began searching through rooms. The suspects fled a short time later and it is unknown at this stage if anything was taken.

The victim was not physically injured during this incident.

The victim described the suspects as male, wearing dark clothing and gloves. One of the suspects had a Jamaican accent.

The investigation is ongoing and any witnesses or anyone that has video surveillance in the area are encouraged to call police.
