Occurrence Type: Break and Enter- Home Invasion

Date: Monday, December 1, 2014 – 11:15pm
On the 1st of December 2014 at approximately, 11:15pm, Police were called to a south end residence in regards to a possible home invasion. Upon arrival to the residence the following was revealed:
At approximately 11pm the victim heard a knock at his door. A non-white male had indicated his car had just broken down and he required using the phone. When the victim returned to the door with a phone their were two non-white males, one wearing a mask and the other with a scarf covering his face. Also was a white female, approximately 5’0 tall wearing a purple and teal coat with a hood. The three parties forced their way into the residence and advised the victim to lay on the floor. The one male was armed with a knife during the attack. Two other residence were forced to remain in their bedrooms while the three parties ransacked the house.
The three parties were able to obtain a quantity of cash, marihuana and some household electronics before they fled on foot. Police were provided with the description of the suspects and began searching the area.
Approximately 10 minutes after the call, an officer observed the two males matching the description in the area of the plaza located at Bayview and Little. When the officer stopped to investigate the males they were found to be in possession of items taken from the residence. They were immediately arrested. A search for the female came up with negative results.
Police feel that the residence was targeted and this was not an act of random violence.
The 23 and 24 year old males both from Toronto are being held for bail and are facing charges of Break, enter and commit theft, Possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a controlled substance.
