(South Huron, ON) Huron OPP officers are seeking the assistance of the public to identify the driver of a truck involved in a fail to remain collision.
On May 29, 2010 at approximately 8:20 am, a motorist was traveling westbound on Thames Road east at Hern Line. The driver saw a southbound vehicle on Hern Line approaching the intersection at a high rate of speed and the driver feared the other vehicle would not stop for their stop sign. The westbound driver moved into the east lane to try and get out of the way but the southbound vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign and struck her passenger side causing her vehicle to spin in a circle and come to rest near the south shoulder. The ‘at fault’ vehicle then continued south on Hern Line without stopping. The victim was not injured in the collision.
The suspect vehicle is described as a light coloured pick up truck, possibly white or light grey, and it was hauling an open trailer loaded with scrap or scrap metal. The driver was believed to be male. The vehicle should have front end damage.
Anyone with information on the owner of this vehicle or the driver involved in this fail to remain collision is encouraged to call the Huron OPP at 1-800-310-1122 or CRIME STOPPERS- 1-800-222-T.I.P.S. (8477). LP10139959
