Hit And Run Driver In Stolen Pickup Truck Leaves Injured Woman

(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Brant County Detachment is investigating after a two vehicle collision, involving a stolen pickup truck that failed to remain, and sent a female driver to the hospital. The collision occurred at the intersection of Oakland Road and King Street in, Brant County, Ontario.

On Thursday December 29, 2016 at 3:51 p.m., County of Brant OPP, County of Brant Fire Services and County of Brant EMS responded for a two vehicle collision where it was reported that one of the vehicles fled the scene and a female driver was injured.

OPP investigation has determined that a grey Dodge pickup truck and a black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided at the intersection of Oakland Road and King Street. Both vehicles sustained significant damage and the black Chevrolet pickup truck fled eastbound on Oakland Road.

The 53-year-old female driver of the grey Dodge pickup truck was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The black Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was located a short time later in the eastbound lane of Cockshutt Road south of Indian Line and was abandoned. The pickup truck was reported stolen from the Windsor area.

Further investigation determined that two males and one female exited the truck and ran to a Campbell Drive address where they removed a black 4-door Pontiac Sunfire and fled the area.

The Pontiac Sunfire was recovered by Toronto Police Service on December 30, 2016.

One male suspect was described as being aboriginal, tall, thin build with a black moustache. There were no descriptors for the second male suspect.

The female suspect was described as being young, 5’ 4” tall wearing glasses and an orange coloured hoodie style sweatshirt.

OPP continue to investigate.
