Hikers Found Safe And Cold

(NORTHERN BRUCE PENINSULA, ON): Members of the Ontario Provincial Police Emergency Response Team(ERT) located the missing youths near a cabin by the Bruce Trail between 5:30a.m. and 5:50a.m. this morning. The youths from the Saint David Catholic Secondary School in Waterloo, Ontario were in good condition and cold. The youths were part of a larger group that is on the Bruce Peninsula hiking and camping. They were returned to their fellow hikers by ERT members.

The OPP would remind all users of the Bruce Peninsula that the area is very rugged and is one of the last wilderness areas in Southern Ontario. This can present challenges to even the most experienced users. Cell phone coverage can be very limited and once the sun has set vision is next to zero. Should you become separated from your group do not continue to walk find a spot on the trail and wait for help to arrive.
