Hiker Airlifted To Hospital After Falling Off Cliff

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) – On August 31, 2017 at approximately 11:54 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), together with Grey County Paramedic Services (EMS), Grey Highlands Fire Department and the Blue Mountains Fire Department, attended the Eugenia Falls Conservation Area located off of Grey Rd. 13 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands in response to an injured female hiker.

Investigation revealed that the female had been hiking in a non-trail area at Eugenia Falls Conservation Area. She had lost her footing and fell approximately 30 feet from a cliff.

The 25-year old victim from Scarborough, Ontario was air-lifted to a Toronto hospital with serious, life-altering injuries.

The Grey Sauble Conservation Authority was notified of the incident.
