Huron County, ON – Until October 23, flu vaccine will only be available to Ontario residents at highest risk of getting the flu and becoming severely ill.
High-risk groups include categories such as:
children from 6 months to 5 years of age
individuals over 65
pregnant women
health care providers
anyone with a chronic medical condition such as cardiac or kidney disease, diabetes or asthma
“While it is important for everyone to get their flu shot, we really want those individuals at highest risk of complications and hospitalization to get the vaccine first,†says Public Health Nurse Ruth Ann Ogilvie.
The Huron County Health Unit will hold community clinics for the general public on Wednesday, October 29 from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at the Clinton Legion and Monday, November 3 from 5:00-7:00 pm at Seaforth Public School.
