Helmetless Dirt Biker Charged For Refusing To Blow

(TOWN OF MINTO, ON) – On November 1, 2019 at approximately 11:30 p.m. a member of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the operator of a dirt bike on William Street north in Clifford that was not wearing a helmet.

While police were speaking with the operator, an odour of an alcoholic beverage was detected on his breath. A Roadside Screening Device test demand was read, which the operator refused to comply with.

Jacob Allan LAMB, 28-years-old of Clifford has been charged with Fail or Refuse to Comply With Demand contrary to the Criminal Code and Fail to Wear Proper Helmet on a Motorcycle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S.) and 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.

The accused will appear in the Ontario court of justice – Guelph on December 3, 2019 to speak to the charge.
