Health Unit Hosting FluMist Clinics for Children

Perth County – Flu shot clinics are underway in Perth County and the Health Unit will be holding special clinics in Listowel and Stratford offering the FluMist vaccine free for children. FluMist was not available in time to be offered at community clinics where the regular flu shot is being given.

FluMist is a nasal spray of live attenuated influenza vaccine. It is given as a gentle mist that is sprayed into both nostrils. FluMist is especially recommended for 2 to 5 year olds, but can be given to children up to the age of 17. FluMist protects against four strains of influenza.

FluMist clinics are being offered at the Perth District Health Unit offices on the following dates and times:

Listowel

Tuesday, November 10: 1 to 3 pm

135 Main St. E., Unit 103 (entrance is at back of Ward & Uptigrove Building)

Stratford

Monday, November 16: 3:30-6:30pm

Monday, November 23: 3:30-6:30pm

653 West Gore Street
