Have You Been Sexually Assaulted By This Pastor?

The Toronto Police Service would like to make the public aware of further charges in an ongoing Sexual Assault investigation.

In February 2015, police alerted the public to a Sexual Assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

– the man is a pastor at the United Spiritual Baptist Church at 787 Midland Avenue

– between May 2011 and May 2013, he offered spiritual guidance to a woman, including performing exorcisms

– during these sessions, he sexually assaulted the woman

– the man convinced the woman to give him money and property

It is further alleged that:

– the man was a pastor at the former Mount Ararat Baptist church in Toronto

– from 1993 to late 1996, he offered spiritual guidance to women

– during these sessions, he sexually assaulted women

As a result of an additional victim coming forward, Wayne Marlon Jones, 53, of Ajax, has been charged with:

1) Sexual Assault

2) Administer Noxious Substance

3) Theft – Over ($1000) (historic charge)

In total, he has now been charged with:

1) five counts of Sexual Assault

2) Administer Noxious Substance

3) three counts of Fraud – Over ($5000)

4) Theft – Over ($1000) (historic charge)

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Monday, January 25, 2016, 10 a.m.

Police believe there may be other victims.

Police would like to remind victims that immigration status is not a factor when they are a victim of a crime. Victims are not required to disclose their immigration status to police when reporting crimes.
