Have You Been Sexually Assaulted By This Man – Ricky Desousa Pragana AKA: Nick Sousa

On October 17, 2016, the Hamilton Police Service commenced an investigation into a sexual assault which occurred in the area of Scenic Drive and Sanatorium Road in Hamilton. A woman reported that she had arranged a meeting with a male whom she had met over the internet on a dating website (Plenty of Fish). The woman had been communicating with this male for about one month. They met on one prior occasion prior to the date of this offence. The male had disguised his identity by using the name “Nick Sousa”.

The woman agreed to meet the male while he was working. The male worked as a security guard was operating a black pickup truck with magnetic labels and the words, “Security”, in white letters on the two front doors. After meeting with the male for a short period of time, the woman decided that she wanted to leave. The male grabbed the woman and then sexually assaulted her.

The police investigation led to the identity of the male involved and on October 19, 2016, Ricky Desousa Pragana was arrested and charged by the Hamilton Police Service. He was released after a bail hearing on a recognizance Thursday October 20, 2016.

The Hamilton Police Service Victims of Crime Unit continues to investigate and believes that there may be more victims who have had contact with Ricky Desousa Pragana.
