(Goderich, ON) On December 12th, 2009 at 1:43 am a Huron OPP officer was patrolling in Goderich when he observed a motor vehicle being operated in a suspicious manner after passing near to the police cruiser. The officer followed the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The lone occupant of the vehicle exited his vehicle and began to display some signs of having consumed alcohol. The driver also failed to produce a valid Ontario drivers’ licence. The officer read a demand for the man to provide a roadside sample of his breath and he complied but failed his test. The man was then arrested and taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two more samples of his breath. The results confirmed that the male had a blood alcohol level that was above the legal limit of 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.
Hans MADER (30) of Central Huron has been charged with one count of Drive Motor Vehicle With Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol and one count of Drive Motor Vehicle No Licence. He will answer to his charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on February 1, 2010. He is also suspended from driving for a period of 90 days.
