Hanover Cop Gets Paid Holiday For Drinking On The Job

On october 15th, 2015 Constable Robin Paige of the Hanover Police Service was found guilty of misconduct charges under the Police Services Act by Hearing Officer Deputy Chief (Ret) Terence Kelly.

ln July, 2015 the Police Services Act hearing for Constable Paige concluded in Hanover after two days of testimony before Deputy Chief (Ret) Kelly on allegations of misconduct related to two charges of Discreditable conduct and insubordination.

The allegations stemmed from an incident on January 19th, 2015 where Constable paige was found to be under the influence of alcohol while on duty and refused an order made by a supervising officer to provide a sample of his breath to determine the level of his sobriety.

After being found guilty on both counts, Deputy Chief (Ret) Kelly has ordered Constable Paige to attend a Disposition Hearing to determine the penalty that is set to begin on January 20th,2016.

Constable Paige remains on administrative suspension with pay in accordance with the Police Services Act of Ontario.

The Hanover Police Service recognizes that these misconduct convictions will be upsetting to members of the public.
