Hanover Council approved a staff recommendation Monday night to grant funding for 17 Downtown Facade Incentive Projects. The second intake in 2015 follows a highly successful and provincially recognized inaugural program launched in 2014. The Downtown Revitalization Implementation Committee (DTRIC) won an Ontario Economic Development Award in Public-Private Partnership for the program.
Funding of 37.5 percent for projects under $20,000 with an additional 24.75 percent possible for projects over $20,000 to a maximum grant of $15,000 was available to Downtown businesses in 2015. Hanover will host the Ontario Business Improvement Area Association’s Communities of Practice session on June 19, 2015 as a result of the positive revitalization work, welcoming delegates from across the province.
Construction may begin as early as May 28, 2015 and will cease no later than November 2, 2015.
