The Hamilton Police Service – Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit began an investigation after receiving information from the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC), via the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
The information concerned an individual who was in possession of Child Pornography and had uploaded it to Skype Messenger, as well as the text-based conversation application known as Chatstep. The devices used for the upload were identified as being from a Hamilton Ontario address.
On Thursday October 6th, 2016, members of the ICE Unit, Technological Crime Unit and Uniform Patrol, executed a search warrant at a Hamilton residence.
As a result of this investigation, a 38-year-old Hamilton man was arrested, charged and held for a bail hearing.

Charges: Possession of Child Pornography x 2, Making Child Pornography Available to Others x 2
