On August 22nd, 2015 at approximately 3:00 am, an altercation outside a Kitchener bar resulted in one suspect retrieving a handgun from his motor vehicle and pointing it at people in a crowd. The suspect then left the area with some associates. Police investigation in the following hours led to the arrest of an adult male from the GTA, who had been residing in local hotels in recent weeks. He was already being sought for a previous uttering threats incident which occurred in downtown Kitchener in recent days. Police obtained a search warrant for the room he was renting and motor vehicle he was driving. Police recovered evidence related to the weapons incident including a metal revolver which fires BB’s. The adult male was held pending a showcause hearing for several violation of court orders, pointing a firearm, uttering threats, and weapons dangerous to the public peace. Police continue to seek witnesses to the event and encourage witnesses to call police.
