On September 7, 2013 at approximately 1:45 a.m. police were in the area of Richmond Street and Mill Street when they became aware of a vehicle with an occupant who was alleged to have a hand gun. A male had been seen pointing the firearm in the parking lot nearby prior to getting into the vehicle. Police observed the vehicle leave the area.
Police followed the vehicle which abruptly stopped in the area of Richmond Street and Kent Street. One occupant of the vehicle fled. Police pursued this male on foot who was captured near the vehicle.
During the arrest of the male, a loaded silver small caliber hand gun was located along with approximately 14 grams of marihuana.
Four other occupants of the vehicle were also arrested.
As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Bradley Crosby of London, 35-year-old Amanda Walker of London and 24-year-old Anthony Russell of Windsor have been charged with:
– 1 count of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle contrary to section 94(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Aaron Warren, a 22-year-old Windsor resident has been charged with:
– 1 count of careless storage of a firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of carrying a concealed weapon contrary to section 90(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possessing a prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possession of a prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate contrary to section 92(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possessing a loaded regulated firearm contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of resist a peace officer contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– 1 count of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle contrary to section 94(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– 1 count of possession of a schedule II substance contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Alekesji Guzhavin, a 28-year-old male of London is charged with:
– 1 count of careless storage of a firearm contrary to section 86(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle contrary to section 94(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– 1 count of pointing a firearm contrary to section 87(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace contrary to section 88(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possessing a prohibited firearm without holding a licence and registration certificate contrary to section 91(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
– 1 count of possessing a prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence and registration certificate contrary to section 92(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
– 1 count of possessing a loaded regulated firearm contrary to section 95(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada and,
– 1 count of failing to comply with judicial release contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
