Break and enter
On November 4, 2016 at 9:11 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Beaumont Crescent business to investigate a break and enter. The complainant observed a male stealing tires and confronted him. The male fled the area on foot. Police investigation has determined a suspect but he has not yet been located.

Break and enter
On November 4, 2016 at 11:57 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Wilson Avenue building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered a storage unit in the building. It was unknown when the storage unit was entered. A large television and a nautical telescope are reported stolen.

Drug arrests downtown
On November 4, 2016 at 2:36 p.m., the Guelph Police went to 3 Paisley Street for the report of two suspicious males behind the building. Police located the males and investigation led to their arrest for possession of crystal meth.
Brian Slade, 34 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and two counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on December 20, 2016.
Jeffrey Dillon, 30 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. He will appear in court on December 20, 2016.
Smashed window downtown – arrest
On November 5, 2016 at 9:37 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a coffee shop on Wyndham Street for the report of a male punching and breaking the exterior window. The male was located by police a short time later and arrested.
William McBain, 33 years of Guelph has been charged with mischief to property under $5,000. He will appear in court on December 16, 2016.
Shoplifter arrested
On November 5, 2016 the Guelph Police arrested a female following a shoplifting investigation that started on November 4, 2016. It is alleged that on November 4 the female concealed items and then left a Woodlawn Road West store without paying. The items are valued at just over $50. The store Loss Prevention Officer confronted her but she did not cooperate and got into her vehicle and drove away.
Brittney Szczesny, 27 years of Mary Hill has been charged with theft under $5,000 and escape lawful custody. She will appear in court on December 16, 2016.
Break and enter
On November 6, 2016 at 9:24 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Goodwin Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the garage sometime overnight and stole a Garmin GPS from the vehicle inside.

Property damage – arrest
On November 6, 2016 the Guelph Police arrested a male following an investigation that started on October 28, 2016. It is alleged that the male had been hired to put in posts at a Ferman Drive home on October 22, 2016. After a disagreement on money owed following the job, the male re-attended to Ferman Drive on October 28 and cut one of the posts at its base and threw the fence boards attached to it to the ground.
Dennis Ashley, 46 years of Cambridge has been charged with mischief to property under $5,000. He will appear in court on December 20, 2016.
Break and enter
On November 7, 2016 at 5:25 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Stone Road West animal clinic to investigate a break and enter. The complainant received an alarm call and attended. Entry was gained through the rear door. It is believed that some medications/vaccines were stolen.

Break and enter
On November 7, 2016 at 4:05 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Hagan Avenue residence to investigate a break and enter. An unknown male walked into the home, stole a cellphone, then went outside and stole change from the unlocked vehicle. Two males were then seen walking away from the area. One of them was described as white, approximately 6 feet tall wearing a grey sweater. A search of the area failed to locate the suspects.

Theft from cars
Over the weekend the Guelph Police received three reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Woolwich Street, Colonial Drive and Washburn Drive.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
