Guelph Police Weekend Report

Break and enter

On November 19, 2016 at 4:33 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Douglas Street business to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through the rear door and stole a bag containing a wallet and other items. A potential suspect is described as male, large build, clean shaven and wearing a red ball cap and a black and orange back pack.

Break and enter

On November 19, 2016 at 8:19 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Conroy Crescent apartment to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime overnight and stole a Playstation 4 and games as well as prescription medications.

On November 20, 2016 at 5:12 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Edinburgh Road South residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through a bedroom window. Belongings were rummaged through but no theft is reported.

On November 20, 2016 at 8:34 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Sydenham Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the shed and a motor vehicle sometime overnight and stole two bicycles.

Drive over 80 mg – arrest

On November 19, 2016 at 3:54 p.m., the Guelph Police were called to an Edinburgh Road South residence for the report that a motor vehicle had driven onto the lawn causing property damage. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Steven Seixeiro, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on December 9, 2016.

Drive over 80 mg – arrest

On November 19, 2016 at 12:48 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on the Hanlon Parkway after observing Highway Traffic Act offences. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Mark Tucker, 38 years of Campbellville has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with red light fail to stop and drive left of centre – on a curve. He will appear in court on December 2, 2016.

Bicycles stolen

Eight more stolen bikes were reported stolen in non-break and enter calls over the weekend from residential and commercial properties in Guelph. The locations were Silvercreek Parkway North, Eugene Drive, Edinburgh Road North, Yorkshire Street North, Whispering Ridge Drive, Frederick Drive, Gordon Street and Meyer Drive.

Bike theft continues to be an ongoing concern. Heavy duty locks for bikes even when indoors gives you the best protection against theft.

Theft from cars

Over the weekend the Guelph Police received eleven reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Grinyer Drive, Schroder Crescent, Sweeney Drive, Harts Lane, Ferman Drive, Hadati Road, Bagot Street, Hardy Street, Lynwood Place and two on Dodds Avenue.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
