On November 28, 2016 at 2:25 a.m., the Guelph Police investigated two males on Macdonell Street. A butterfly style knife was located in the possession of one of them and he was arrested. A subsequent search discovered homemade brass knuckles.
The 30-year-old Guelph man has been charged with two counts of possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of breach of weapons prohibition order and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 28, 2016.
Collision – driver arrested
On November 27, 2016 at 8:20 p.m., the Guelph Police responded to Devere Drive and Lambert Crescent for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a roll over. On arrival police located two vehicles, one on its roof on the roadway and the other had been pushed onto the front yard of a residence. Investigation determined that one vehicle was unoccupied at the time of the collision. The male driving was found to be impaired by alcohol and was arrested. Both vehicles sustained major damage and the arrested driver sustained minimal injuries.
Christopher Hopps, 28 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on December 13, 2016.
Break and enter
On November 27, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Palmer Street apartment building to investigate a break and enter. A tenant entered the laundry room at 2:10 p.m. and found two males in the process of damaging the locking mechanisms and stealing money from the machines. The males left immediately, with approximately $10 in change.

Break and enter
On November 26, 2016, the Guelph Police received the report of a break and enter to a Pleasant Road residence. The culprit(s) entered the sun room located at the front of the home and stole a set of golf clubs sometime overnight.

Break and enter – arrest
On November 28, 2016 at 4:34 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Dufferin Street apartment building for the report that someone was in a third floor apartment that should be unoccupied. Police arrived and located a male as he was leaving the apartment and he was arrested.
A 45-year-old Guelph man has been charged with unlawfully in a dwelling and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on November 28, 2016.
Stolen vehicles
Sometime between November 26 and 27, a 2016 grey 1999 GMC Sierra 1500, Ontario plate 3651EZ was stolen from a business on Wellington Street West.
Sometime on November 27, 2016 a Tresamo E-bike was stolen from a Gordon Street location near downtown.

Theft from cars
Over the weekend the Guelph Police received fifteen reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Creighton Avenue, Creekside Drive, Joseph Street, Clythe Creek Drive, Popham Drive, Victoria Road North, Swift Crescent, Preston Street, Woodland Glenn Drive, King Street, Hardy Street, Goodwin Drive, Metcalfe Street, Speedvale Avenue West and Powell Street West.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. November 26 – In the area of Stone Road and Monticello Crescent from 8:22 a.m. – 11:11 a.m. – 15 tickets issued.
November 27 – In the area of Silvercreek Parkway at Ajax Street from 11:33 a.m. – 1:05 p.m. – 4 tickets issued.
