Guelph Police Weekend Report

Weapon call – male arrested

On September 5, 2015 at 7:50 p.m., the Guelph Police were alerted to someone pointing a firearm out of a third floor window at 90 Carden Street. Police arrived and also observed the gun pointed out the window. The Tactical team was utilized to clear the apartment where the weapon was seen, however the suspect had already fled. Further investigation led to the arrest of a male on Carden Street. Police were later granted a search warrant to the male’s residence where they recovered replica firearms, one of which was a direct replica of a high powered assault rifle. Police also seized a quantity of Heroin, Oxycodone tablets, Marihuana and Crystal Meth with a total estimated value of approximately $800.

Robert Gaudette, 48 years of Guelph has been charged with point firearm, weapons dangerous, careless use of firearm, two counts of possess weapon while prohibited, unlawfully in a dwelling, breach OIC undertaking, and four counts of possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on September 8, 2015.

Male with knife arrested

On September 5, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Gordon Street near downtown after receiving the complaint of a male with a knife. It is alleged that the male brandished a knife after being involved in an altercation with another male who had left the area. Police located and arrested the male. Continued investigation led to further charges.

Mathieux Doucet, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with weapons dangerous, mischief under $5,000 and five counts of breach of probation. He will appear in court on September 8, 2015.

Argument over cab ride leads to arrest

On September 6, 2015 at 2:42 a.m., the Guelph Police responded to the area of Macdonell Street and Wyndham Street after receiving the complaint of a male with a knife. It is alleged that the male brandished the knife and threatened another person over a cab ride. Police arrested this male after he got into the cab. A search incident to his arrest discovered a folding style knife.

Michael Reilly, 25 years of Guelph has been charged with assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, utter threats and obstruct police. He will appear in court on October 16, 2015.

Drive over 80 mg – arrest

On September 6, 2015 at 2:52 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Norfolk Street. Police spoke with the male driver and a demand was made for a roadside breath sample. He failed this test and was arrested.

Jeffrey Masales, 27 years of Guelph has been charged with drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on September 18, 2015.

Injured male investigation – charges laid

On September 8, 2015 at 12:55 a.m., a male was found injured on Norfolk Street just north of the Waterloo Avenue/Gordon Street intersection. This male received his injuries after exiting a moving motor vehicle. The male was transported to Guelph General Hospital, treated and subsequently released.

An investigation was undertaken by Guelph Police Investigative Services, and that investigation has concluded with charges being laid against two individuals.

At 28-year-old Kitchener female and a 33-year-old Guelph male have been charged with utter death threats. They will appear in court on October 16, 2015.

Cyclist arrested

On September 8, 2015 at 1:30 a.m., Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop on Elizabeth Street with a male on a bicycle after observing him carrying a large Marihuana plant as he rode. The male was arrested and the plant seized.

William Beaver, 50 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and breach OIC undertaking. He will appear in court on October 27, 2015.

Shoplifter arrested

On September 6, 2015 at 5:25 p.m., the Guelph Police went to Walmart to assist with a shoplifter. It is alleged that the female shoplifter had been observed exiting the store with stolen property and getting into a waiting vehicle. A Loss Prevention Officer approached her and attempted to arrest her. The female tried to flee and punched the officer. The officer was not injured and was able to arrest the female and recover the property.

Karley Frayer, 26 years of Guelph has been charged with assault with intent to resist arrest, escape lawful custody and theft under $5,000.
