Three arrests made at hotel
On October 4, 2015 at 10:14 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a hotel located on Scottsdale Drive to investigate some unwanted guests. Three people were investigated and found to be in possession of numerous pieces of identification that did not belong to them and break in instruments. A small quantity of Crystal Meth and pain medication pills were also located.
A 19-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of stolen property, breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and possession of break in instruments.
A 21-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of stolen property, three counts breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and possession of break in instruments.
A 19-year-old Guelph female has been charged with possession of stolen property, two counts breach of probation, possession of a controlled substance and possession of break in instruments.
All three were held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 5, 2015.
Collision leads to impaired driver arrest
On October 3, 2015 at 12:13 a.m., the Guelph Police Service responded to the report of a minor personal injury collision on the campus of the University of Guelph.
It is alleged that a 2015 Mazda 3 operated by a 22-year-old Mississauga male was westbound on South Ring Road approaching Gordon Street. The Mazda struck the rear end of a 2004 Toyota pickup truck that was stopped for the red traffic signal at that intersection. The Toyota was operated by a 17-year-old resident of Cambridge.
Damage to the front end of the 2015 Mazda was severe. The rear bumper of the Toyota sustained moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Minor injuries were reported to the Mazda driver.
Police investigation led to the arrest of the driver of the Mazda.
Ryan HEWAT has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on October 20, 2015.
Flat tire leads to arrest
On October 4, 2015 at 7:36 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Paisley Road near Ridgewood Avenue. Police had observed the vehicle being driven with a front tire missing and sparks coming off the rim. The female driver was spoken to and was determined to be impaired by alcohol and arrested. She then refused to provide a breath sample for police.
Michelle Veneman, 51 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and fail to provide breath sample. She will appear in court on October 16, 2015.
Break and enter
On October 2, 2015 at 7:36 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a construction site on Albert Street to investigate a break and enter. A trailer was entered sometime overnight and tools were stolen.

Break and enter
On October 2, 2015 at 3:31 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Water Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged a door to gain entry sometime during the day. A theft of a laptop computer is reported.

Uber driver charged
On October 3, 2015 at 2:15 a.m., the Guelph Police were located in the downtown core during “Safe Semester.” The roads were closed during this time with road closure signs. A motor vehicle was observed driving past the road closed/barricades and stopping at Macdonell/Wyndham. A male was then seen going up to the driver and then entering the back seat of the vehicle. A traffic stop was conducted and an investigation determined that the male driver was working as an Uber driver. The 48-year-old male from Scarborough has been charged with picking up a passenger for compensation without authority and disobey sign under the Highway Traffic Act.
