Guelph Police Nab Two More Impaired Drivers

On September 10 / 11, 2016 between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. the Guelph Police Service conducted a RIDE program in the City of Guelph. 610 vehicles were checked by officers with four roadside screening tests being administered. All four drivers registered alcohol but were found to be within the legal limit to operate their vehicles. Police found two drivers who entered the RIDE lane to be unlicenced and issued provincial offence notices to both. Three drivers were also issued provincial offence notices for driving their vehicles without current validation stickers.

Guelph Police would like to remind drivers that over the next couple of weeks they will continue to conduct random spot checks for persons driving under the influence of alcohol. Registering breath samples over 80 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood will result in an immediate 90 day Administrative Drivers Licence Suspension. Convictions for impaired driving and driving with over 80 mgs will both result in a minimum of 12 month driving prohibition.

Although RIDE did not find any impaired drivers, general patrol still located two.

Craig Bolduc, 43 years of Cambridge has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on September 20, 2016.
