Guelph Police Daily News Release – Sept 4, 2015

On September 3, 2015 at 5:36 p.m. Guelph Police were called to Arthur Street for a report of a disturbance. Police arrived and discovered that the disturbance ended and there were no injuries. As a result of the investigation two males were arrested. A 21 year old Guelph man was charged with weapons dangerous, mischief under $5000 and three counts of uttering a threat. He is being held for a bail hearing. A 15 year old male youth was charged with weapons dangerous.

Cyclist Arrested

On September 4, 2015 at 12:59 a.m., while on patrol, Guelph Police officers observed a male doing a stunt on his bicycle in an area of Carden Street that is designated for busses, taxis and delivery vehicles. Police stopped this male and initiated an investigation. As a result of this investigation, a 27 year old Guelph man was arrested and charged with: possession of a prohibited weapon, two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of break in instruments and possession of a stolen credit card.

The male was further charged with several Highway Traffic Act infractions. The male is being held for a bail hearing.

Impaired Driver

On September 4, 2015 at 2:07 a.m. Guelph Police were called to a fast food restaurant on Gordon Street for a report of an impaired driver. Police located the vehicle and spoke to the driver. As a result of this investigation, Anthony Sutalo, a 21 year old Oakville man, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on September 18, 2015.

Flipped Trailer

You may have been effected by a closure on Woodlawn Road yesterday morning. At 10:28 a.m. Guelph Police were called to Woodlawn Road near the Hanlon Parkway where a pickup truck, hauling a storage container, lost the trailer when making a turn, which caused the trailer to become detached and flip on its side. Woodlawn Road had to be closed for approximately an hour while heavy lift equipment was brought in to upright the trailer. Damage is estimated at $15,000; there are no injuries.

A 30 year old London man was charged with careless driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
