In October 2014, a complaint was filed with the Guelph Police Service regarding a fraud. The complainant discovered that there were unauthorized fraudulent activity on her account. Her accounts were frozen and subsequently she sustained a financial loss.
On September 29, 2015 investigation led to the responsible male who turned himself in to police to deal with multiple charges.
Jeffrey Cain, 28 years of Oakville has been charged with utter forged document, unauthorized use of credit card and fraud under $5,000. He will appear in court on November 17, 2015.
Property damage
On September 29, 2015 at 9:00 a.m., the Guelph Police went to an Auden Road residence to investigate property damage. The culprit(s) damaged flower pots, smashed a ceramic ornament and left a doll pinned to the door.

E-Messaging
The Guelph Police Service E-Messaging System, is an automated community notification system that delivers vital information to residents and business owners within the City of Guelph.
The E- Messaging System will send information to a selected geographic area made possible through a community member sign-up webpage. Messages will be prepared and delivered by the Guelph Police Service through email and text messaging. Message types and user delivery profiles can be customized to meet the needs and preferences for each registered community member.
Types of messages
The registration page enables community members to create a user profile, which will specify the message types that the community member wishes to receive. Messages like:
Information alerts
Existing Amber alerts
Missing persons
Emergency incidents
Neighbourhood crime alerts
Threats to school safety
Public warnings
Registration
Residents and business owners within the city of Guelph who wish to enroll in the E- Messaging System will be required to create a user profile by completing all required fields on the registration form. Your user profile will identify the geographic area where the messages are to be delivered. You also have the option to edit your online user profile or unsubscribe at any time.
