Guelph Police Daily News Release – July 17, 20115

On July 16, 2015 at 3:03 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Paisley Street. Investigation discovered that the male driver had a quantity of Marihuana on him and he was arrested. A search subsequent to his arrest found evidence of trafficking including Canadian and American currency as well as Hash and Hash oil.

Eric Pillwein, 23 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. He was also charged with several offences under the Highway Traffic Act. He will appear in court on August 21, 2015.

Drug charges laid

On July 16, 2015 at 8:10 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Hotel on Gordon Street to check on residents in one of the rooms. Investigation found three people in the room as well as drug paraphernalia that contained Crystal Meth residue. All three people were arrested.

A 27-year-old Guelph man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on July 17, 2015.

Two females 26 years and 25 years, both from Guelph, were charged with possession of a controlled substance. Both will appear in court on July 24, 2015.

Canoe stolen

On July 16, 2015 the Guelph Police received the report from the Boathouse and Speed River Paddling that a canoe had been stolen overnight. The culprit(s) cut a pad lock to steal it. The canoe is a Sea Nymph, 17 feet long and silver in colour.

Portables entered

On July 16, 2015, the Guelph Police received the report of portables being entered overnight at two different schools. Westwood School and College Heights High School both had a portable entered. Both incidents are still under investigation.
