On December 14, 2015 at 9:32 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Woodlawn Road business to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) broke the lock on the front door to gain entry. A theft of approximately $1,700 worth of items is reported. A male was seen by an employee of a neighbouring business in the area after closing hours. He is described as white, tall, thin, 20-30 years, goatee, brown hair, very long shaggy dreadlock haircut, red sweater, black pants or jeans, black skater shoes riding a small BMX bike.

Theft from cars, thousands in jewellery
On December 14, 2015 the Guelph Police received three reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Hadati Road, Delhi Street and Guelph Street. The Guelph Street theft is reporting thousands of dollars’ worth of jewellery stolen from the car sometime over the weekend.

This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Shoplifter resists arrest
On December 14, 2015 at 4:31 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the plaza at 615 Scottsdale Road to help Loss Prevention Officers with a male that had been arrested for theft. The male was struggling with them in an attempt to escape. Police assisted and took custody of the male.
Stephen Ayles, 30 years of Guelph has been charged with theft under $5,000 and resist arrest. He will appear in court in January of 2016.
