On December 8, 2015 at 2:00 a.m. a Waterloo Regional police officer attempted to arrest an impaired driver at a Tim Horton’s in Kitchener. The driver fled and while doing so struck the officer with his vehicle. Police later found the vehicle abandoned. At 3:13 a.m., Guelph Police Dog General attended to Kitchener and tracked the suspect, locating him after a 45 minute search.
A Kitchener man was arrested for impaired driving by drugs, assault police officer, dangerous driving and possession of a controlled substance.

Break and enter
On December 7, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Preston Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the unlocked garage sometime overnight and stole scrap copper valued at approximately $300.

Mischief – arrest
On December 7, 2015 at 8:34 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Delaware Avenue apartment building for the report that a male known to the residents was causing property damage. Investigation alleged that the male had damaged multiple items within the home and he was arrested.
A 24-year-old Guelph man has been charged with mischief under $5,000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on December 8, 2015.
