Guelph Police Daily News Release – December 03, 2015

On December 2, 2015 at 4:11 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a bank on Clair Road for a fraud complaint. It is alleged that a man attended to the bank and attempted to open an account under a false name. Bank staff were suspicious of the man and contacted police. The man was subsequently arrested. Further investigation determined his true identity. He was also found to be in possession of identification documents from four different people.

Kurtis Douglas, 30 years of Toronto has been charged with two counts of fraud under $5,000, utter forged document, two counts of possess credit card data, three counts of possession of identity documents, obstruct police, identity theft and possession of article stolen from mail. He will appear in court on January 12, 2016.

Male arrested after entering residence

On December 2, 2015 at 3:52 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Wyndham Street residence for the report that a male had broken into the home through the side door. Police located the man inside and he was arrested. Investigation determined that the door had been unlocked.

Julian Holman, 55 years of Guelph has been charged with unlawfully in a dwelling. He will appear in court on January 12, 2015.

Break and enter

On December 2, 2015 at 3:30 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Johnston Street residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged the lock on the rear door to gain entry. It is unknown if a theft occurred.

Impaired driver arrested

On December 3, 2015 at 2:13 a.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Macdonell Street. Investigation determined the male driver was impaired and he was arrested.

Riley Booth, 24 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80 mg. He will appear in court on January 5, 2016.
