On August 13, 2015 at 3:41 a.m., the Guelph Police became involved in a collision investigation. The investigation alleges that a male youth took his parents car without their knowledge at approximately 2:40 a.m. and subsequently struck a parked car on Oxford Street. The estimated damage to the two vehicles is $25,000.
A 17-year-old Guelph male has been charged with take motor vehicle without consent under the Criminal Code. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with careless driving and class G1 licence holder unaccompanied by qualified driver. He will appear in court on September 23, 2015.
Break and enter
On August 12, 2015, the Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street South residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered sometime over the previous three days by damaging the basement door. A theft has been reported in this incident.

Theft from cars
On August 12, 2015 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Waterloo Avenue and Hill Trail.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible.
