Guelph Police Daily News Release – 27Sept2016

On September 27, 2016 at 12:27 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Edinburgh Road at Merion Street for the report that a motor vehicle struck a house. A silver Buick Century crashed into the home on Edinburgh Road causing substantial damage to the front porch. One 20-year-old female occupant remained at the scene, needing medical attention. She was taken to Guelph General Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries. It is believed that there were more occupants in this vehicle but they fled the scene. It is also believed that there may have been another vehicle involved. It was described as a silver sedan with as many as four males inside. They were last seen heading down Merion Street towards Bagot Street.

This collision investigation is ongoing.

Break and enter

On September 26, 2016 at 3:00 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Silvercreek Parkway North residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) damaged the front door to gain entry sometime during the day.

Impaired driver arrested

On September 26, 2016 at 2:50 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report of a possible impaired driver on Woodlawn Road West. Police located the vehicle and driver on Wellington Street near Wyndham Street and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was spoken too, determined to be impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

Cody Boivin-Wilson, 19 years of Guelph has been charged with impaired driving and drive over 80mg. He will appear in court on October 11, 2016.
