Cab driver assaulted in January – arrest made
On January 28, 2017 at 12:05 a.m., the Guelph Police investigated the report of a cab driver being assaulted after dropping a male off at Chancellors Way. The male and the driver originally had an issue over nonpayment of the fare but after the payment was made the male punched the driver in the face several times and then fled the area.
Continued investigation has led to the male being identified and on February 26, 2017 he was arrested.
Samuel Nieuwhof, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with assault. He will appear in court on April 7, 2017.
Traffic stop leads to arrest
On February 26, 2017 at 9:04 p.m., the Guelph Police conducted a traffic stop with a motor vehicle on Raspberry Lane. Investigation discovered that the licence plate was registered to a different vehicle, the validation sticker on the plate had been reported stolen and the vehicle was on the system as status unfit.
Yones Timouri, 31 years of Guelph has been charged with possession of stolen property and breach of probation. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with use plate not authorized for vehicle and operate unsafe vehicle. He will appear in court on April 28, 2017.
Break and enter
On February 25, 2017 at 8:37 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Teal Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The home was entered sometime between 3:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The culprit(s) entered by forcing the rear patio sliding door. A theft is reported.

Break and enter
On February 25, 2017 at 6:19 p.m., the Guelph Police went to a Division Street building to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) smashed the glass in a door and entered the building which is used as a workshop. A theft of tools and a youth bike is reported.

February 26, 2017 from 2:49 p.m. to 4:35 p.m. on Speedvale Avenue and Knightswood Boulevard– 7 speeding tickets issued
