On October 12, 2016, the Guelph Police investigated shoplifting incidents at three stores located on Woodlawn Road. The same male was discovered to be responsible for all three with a total value of just over $500 being stolen. Investigation determined the identity of the male and it was found that he was in custody on theft charges from an arrest on October 14, 2016.
On October 25, 2016, the male was arrested while at the court house for the October 14 charges.
Sahand Shookohi Tabrizi, 21 years of Guelph has been charged with three counts of theft under $5,000 and breach of recognizance. He will appear in court on November 25, 2016.
Arrest on Alice Street
On October 25, 2016 at 4:15 p.m., the Guelph Police went to an Alice Street residence to assist Guelph Fire with a compliance check for smoke alarms. While inside the residence, a female that was on conditions to not be in this residence was located and she was arrested.
The 39-year-old Guelph female has been charged with breach of probation and breach of OIC undertaking. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 26, 2016.
Theft from cars
On October 25, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Yarmouth Street and Alice Street.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Bicycle’s stolen
Two more stolen bikes were reported on October 25, 2016 taken from residential properties in Guelph. One was taken from inside an apartment building on Commercial Street and the other had been locked on the front porch of a London Road West home.
Bike theft continues to be an ongoing concern. Heavy duty locks for bikes even when indoors gives you the best protection against theft.
