On August 25, 2016 the Guelph Police received the report of a sexual assault on Carden Street. It is alleged that at 6:50 p.m., a female was waiting for her train outside the Via station. A male approached her, sat next to her and began a conversation. He then exposed himself and grabbed her arm. She was able to get free from him and move away. Police were called shortly after. Investigation led to the arrest of the male at 8:40 p.m.
A 26-year-old Guelph man has been charged with sexual assault, indecent act and two counts of breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 26, 2016.
Theft from cars – arrest
On August 25, 2016 at 7:23 p.m., the Guelph Police went to the Baker Street parking lot for the report that a male was going through cars. Police arrived and saw the male as he exited the back of a vehicle with a bag. The male was arrested without incident. A quantity of Xanax pills were discovered after his arrest.
A 34-year-old Guelph man has been charged with theft under $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 26, 2016.
Stolen credit card – arrest
On August 25, 2016 the Guelph Police received the report of stolen credit card that had been used to make purchases. A male youth who was known to the victim was found to be responsible and he was arrested.
A 15-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of identity document, fraud under $5,000, unauthorized use of credit card and possession of property obtained by crime. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on August 26, 2016.
Theft from cars
On August 25, 2016 the Guelph Police received two reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Cole Road and Woodlawn Road East.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Break and enter
On August 26, 2016 at 5:41 a.m., the Guelph Police went to a Ferman Drive residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered the home through an unlocked rear door sometime overnight and stole a purse. The residents were home at the time but did not hear anyone.

On August 26, 2016 at 7:34 a.m., the Guelph Police went to Waterworks Place to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) cut a hole in the fence to the yard sometime overnight to gain entry. Thousands of dollars’ worth of tools have been reported stolen from two trailers.

Fire
On August 26, 2016 at 4:40 a.m., the Guelph Police received a call for a fire behind Waverly Drive School. Guelph Fire were dispatched and attended. The portable outdoor washroom was on fire and was destroyed.
