Youths damage property – arrested
On October 24, 2016 at 10:24 a.m., the Guelph Police received the report that several male youths had entered the property of a Suffolk Street West home and damaged some lawn furniture. Police investigation led to four youths being arrested.
A 16-year-old Guelph male has been charged with mischief to property under $5,000. He will appear in court on December 7, 2016.
A 14-year-old Guelph male has been charged with mischief to property under $5,000. He will appear in court on December 7, 2016.
A 16-year-old Guelph male has been charged with breach of undertaking. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 25, 2016.
A 15-year-old Guelph male has been charged with possession of a controlled substance. He will appear in court on December 7, 2016.
Three arrested at Woolwich Street motel, stolen vehicle recovered
On October 25, 2016 at 12:22 a.m., the Guelph Police located a male at a Woolwich Street motel that was wanted on outstanding charges. He was arrested and the subsequent search discovered a set of keys that belonged to a vehicle found to be parked in Riverside Park. That vehicle had been reported stolen to O.P.P. on October 22, 2016. Continued investigation determined that two other people with him were also wanted on outstanding charges and they were also arrested. Two replica handguns were also located and seized during this investigation.
A 21-year-old Guelph male has been charged with two counts of possession of property over $5,000, three counts of breach of recognizance and mischief under $5,000. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 25, 2016.
A 33-year-old Guelph female has been charged with two counts of breach of probation and fail to re-attend court. She also has multiple charges under a Bench warrant as well as a Provincial Offences warrant. She has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 25, 2016.
A 33-year-old Guelph man has been charged with breach of undertaking. He also faces multiple charges under a Bench warrant as well as a 1st Instance warrant. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 25, 2016.
Break and enter
On October 24, 2016, the Guelph Police went to a Gordon Street South residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered through the rear patio door sometime between October 19 and 24. A theft of cash and jewellery was reported.

On October 24, 2016, the Guelph Police went to an Aspen Valley Crescent residence to investigate a break and enter. The culprit(s) entered by forcing the interior garage door but no theft is reported.

Single car collision
On October 24, 2016 at 10:35 a.m., the Guelph Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision at the intersection of York Road and Victoria Road. It is alleged that the 70-year-old male Guelph driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a hydro pole at the intersection. The driver was not injured, however the vehicle was written off as a result of the collision. The incident remains under investigation and charges are pending.

Recovered stolen vehicle
On October 24, 2016 the Rockwood O.P.P. located a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander that had been reported stolen from Smith Avenue in Guelph sometime between October 15 and 18, 2016.
Theft from cars
On October 24, 2016 the Guelph Police received four reports from Guelph residents about thefts from their cars. The locations were Bagot Street, Woolwich Street, Glasgow Street and Huron Street.
This crime is easily avoided by locking your cars, keeping valuables out of sight or removed from your vehicle and parked in a well-lit and visible area where possible. Bicycle’s stolen
Two more bikes were reported stolen on October 24, 2016 from residential properties in Guelph. One was taken from the backyard of a Speedvale Avenue West home and the other had been locked in an underground parking area on Edinburgh Road South.
Bike theft continues to be an ongoing concern. Heavy duty locks for bikes even when indoors gives you the best protection against theft.
