Theft Investigation Leads to Arrest

On July 22, 2016 Guelph Police were notified of an attempt theft that had occurred at a residence near the downtown. A male entered into the backyard and attempted to take parts from a motorized scooter but was startled by a visitor at the house and fled. Investigation revealed the identity of this male and police made attempts at locating him.

On July 23, 2016 the male was arrested in the east end of Guelph. The 36 year old male was charged with attempt theft under $5000 and trespass by night.

Trespassing Investigation Leads to Criminal Charges

On July 22, 2016 at 9:05pm, Guelph Police observed a male walking through a backyard of a residence near the downtown area. Police spoke to the male to determine what he was doing in the backyard. Everything appeared in order and the male was sent on his way. Further investigation revealed that this male had falsely identified himself to police.

On July 23, 2016 at 7:05pm, the 22 year old Guelph male was located. He was arrested for obstruct police and breaching his probation order. He was held for a bail hearing.

Credit Card Investigation Leads to Arrest

On Friday, June 24, 2016, it is alleged that a 36 year old Guelph male entered a store on Eramosa Road and attempted to purchase items with a stolen credit card. Investigation revealed the identity of this male and police made attempts to locate him.

On July 23, 2016 the male was located in the downtown area and arrested. He was charged with possession of stolen goods under $5000 and use of stolen credit card. He was held for a bail hearing.

The Guelph Police were involved in 248 incidents in the past 24 hours. Incidents involve everything from traffic stops and accidental 911 calls to domestics and break and enters.
